Da Milano was started in the year 2000 by Sahil Malik. He studied fashion design at NIFT and then did a marketing course in London. His family’s business was in exporting leather goods. Premium handbags for women were only sold by international brands in India at the time. He wanted a brand in India that sold luxury handbags, and that is how Da Milano came into existence. The brand targeted niche customers. 

The first store of the brand was opened in Connaught Place. To increase the number of Da Milano stores in Delhi, the entrepreneur opened three more stores. He then opened one in Chandigarh’s Sector 17 market in 2004. The strategy for the company was to have real estate on its side. They aimed to open stores in prime localities where the footfall of their target customers was high.

Da Milano has multiple stores across India and Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and Nepal. The brand gives a lifetime service warranty with good quality leather used in its products. Starting with luxury handbags, it has expanded to wallets, computer bags, belts, backpacks, accessories, card cases, and the list goes on.
