Cleaning Tips for Sneakers as Per Their Material

The feeling that comes with seeing a fresh pair of sneakers is unmatchable. However, this freshness can be easily tarnished with just one wear, especially if the shoes are white. And after a few runs, treks, or unexpected rains, no area’s left to convey that you are wearing a new shoe.

However, one must understand that sneakers and Air Jordan Utility 12 are investments and should be cared for just like other investment options.

Even though the techniques for cleaning sneakers and Air Jordan Utility 12 are not much different, some specific factors need to consider as per the material. Let’s discuss how one can clean sneakers depending on their material.

  1. Mesh

Nylon mesh is undoubtedly one of the best options for runners due to its breathable fabric. However, the netting can easily catch all the dirt and dust when exercising.

In this case, use a dry brush to remove any excess dirt and then apply a mixture of baking soda and vinegar to the dirty area and let it sit for around 15 minutes. After that, the area should be gently scrubbed for a minute and then wiped clean with a soft wet rag. You can keep the shoes dry.

  1. Synthetic leather

To clean this shoe material, soak a rag in warm water and mild laundry detergent. Wipe down the area using this solution.

After that, scrub the area gently using a brush for around a minute. Use a soft wet rag to clean, eliminate let-over detergent, and air dry. The streaks should lift with ease as stains don’t soak into synthetic leather-like in the case of nylon mesh.

  1. Knit

One should be very gentle with these types of shoes. Since knits are soft and pliable, they are more fragile than other fabrics. Therefore, one should avoid using a brush as it can be tough to knit. A soft cloth is an ideal option to clean a knit running shoe. Even though it requires more time and energy, it is worth the effort.

  1. Canvas

Canvas sneakers offer good durability; however, they can accumulate dirt quickly. One of the best ways to clean them is to use a toothbrush and a cleaning paste, and a mixture of baking soda and warm water.

Dip the toothbrush in this prepared solution and scrub the shoe’s surface until it gets tidied. Dry the shoes with the mixture on, and use a damp fabric to remove any hardened piece of baking soda.

Final Thought

Since every shoe material requires a slightly different cleaning approach, you must take the necessary steps to ensure thorough cleaning of your shoe.
